The War Memorial is in the grounds of Blackburn Cathedral, originally it was at St Michaels Church, Whalley New Road until it was demolished.

Apparently it is thought that there may originally have been name plaques on the memorial.

      One of the plaques which are around the top of the memorial, the others are:-

               France  Belgium      North Sea Salonica        Africa  Gallipoli
