The memorial is in the park near the Heritage Centre.

The wording reads:      

IN MEMORY OF

OUR GLORIOUS DEAD

1914 - 1918

1939 - 1945

 

 

The names of 144 men who died in the First World War are engraved on a brass plaque on the back of the memorial with the words:

 

 

IN TRIBUTE TO THOSE MEN OF BARROWFORD WHO WERE

KILLED IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR   1914 - 1918

 

 

 

Life to be sure, is nothing much to lose; but young men think it is, and we were young.

 

 

Another brass plaques lists  35  names from the Second World War.
