Location: These two memorials stand outside the library which is on the corner of Cross Street and Market Street.

Also outside the Library is this memorial to the Scouts from Nelson who died in the First World War. There were 105 Scouts from Nelson who gave their lives during the war.
The words read:
(Under the feet of the statue is the Scout motto)

TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THE NELSON SCOUTS WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
Date: This memorial was originally erected in Victoria Park and unveiled in October 1919 by Major Alderman Rickard. It was moved to its present location in 1998 after being restored. It is the only one of its kind in the country. |

Location: Right at the bottom of Brunswick Street just before the lane which leads to Walverden Reservoir. The building is now occupied by Manhattan Showers.
