Location: The memorial stands in front of the church
OS ref: 103 SD
Date: 12th November 1920
The photo shows the rear of the memorial (due to the direction of the sun at the time of my visit). The front of the cross is decorated with celtic designs. I plan to revisit the village at a different time of day.
To the Glory of God
in heartfelt thankfulness
for the great deliverance
and the blessing of peace
In the thankfulness to the men of
Chatburn and Worston
who fought for us in the Great War
and returned in safety
and more especially in proud and
grateful remembrance of those
who laid down their lives
this cross is erected by
the inhabitants of this parish
